August 27, 2019 – Los Angeles – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce AS Los Angeles as a member kicking off with the 2019 Fall Season.

Based in Downtown L.A., AS Los Angeles will begin play in UPSL Western Conference SoCal Division I, and host its UPSL homes games at Whittier College's Memorial Stadium (7214 Canyon Drive, Whittier, CA 90602) in compliance with UPSL's Minimum Standards.

United Premier Soccer League Commissioner Yan Skwara said, "We are excited with the continued expansion of quality teams in UPSL SoCal Division I and we welcome AS Los Angeles. Southern California has such a massive soccer-playing population as every knows, and Harry Tachian and the AS Los Angeles ownership group are poised to capitalize on their already substantial growth within the region. We wish them all the best of luck as they prepare AS Los Angeles for kick off of the 2019 Fall Season."

Harry Tachian is Founder and Owner of AS Los Angeles. A graduate of Crescenta Valley (Calif.) High School, Tachian is an entrepreneur specializing in urbanization and commercial real estate. He created the club in early 2018.

Coached by Andres Lettera, AS Los Angeles recently completed its first season in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) West Region Southwest Conference.

AS Los Angeles Owner Harry Tachian said, "This is a big move for us because we're not a club that has multiple and separate teams playing in separate leagues and all that. We're just not there yet. We're one team that plays in the best leagues, and we like it that way. Our young players get with our u18 team, and we play as one group on game day. We're a family, and we want to play and develop year-round, so that's we we're joining UPSL Division I."

AS Los Angeles also operates an 18u boys team in the Southern California-based Coast Soccer League (CSL), and is moving forward with plans for a women's team scheduled to begin in 2020.

Ramon Rivas serves as Director of Coaching for AS Los Angeles. The Head Coach of the AS Los Angeles' 18u boys team, Rivas also serves as head coach of the club's UPSL SoCal Division III entrant.

The club soon will announce its upcoming game schedule.
